30 for 30 - Day 25

I can't wait for the weekend to start! And it's a long weekend at that :) I have Monday off, which means an extra day with J. Not to mention I get to leave work 30 minutes early today because I worked late last night. (My meeting ran over.) So I'm pretty upbeat today despite being tired. Plus I tried something new today: jeans tucked into boots. I know why I've never tried this before. I have big feet and I like to hide them under pant legs. What do you think?

Green Sweater - Kohls
Cream Tank (underneath) - Kohls
Jeans - H&M
Black Boots - JCPenney

30 for 30 - Day 24

So my original plan for this outfit wasn't going to happen. I was going to wear a belt with it, but it turns out the belts that hold up my pants are too big for around my waist. Therefore this outfit is pretty plain. Oh well...

Pink Shirt - Target
Black Cardigan - Boston Store
Black Pants - Thrift Store
Black Boots - JCPenney

30 for 30 - Day 23

Only a few more outfits left, but here is Wednesday's!

Pink Cardigan - Target
White Button Down - Shopko
Grey Pants - New York & Co.
Black Flats - Payless

I got sick of wearing cardigans so I had to figure out how to wear a cardigan more as a sweater. I think this outfit is pretty cute.

30 for 30 - Day 22

So you have probably noticed that I am missed a few days of 30 for 30. This is because, through this process, I have determined that I am not a fashion blogger. I simply do not have an eye for style like many of you others do. I am also significantly lacking in the accessories department. Therefore, I have made a few adjustments to 30 for 30 for my personal sanity. First, I decided to not count camisoles in my 30 for 30 and therefore have many more layering options. And secondly, I will only remix my weekday outfits. I am in desperate need of some variety. And since I chose my pieces primarily for work, I will have the opportunity to be a little more casual the other 2 days. Thanks for your understanding and on to today's outfit!

White Cardigan - Vanity
Green Tank - Kohls
Pinstripe Pants - Kohls
Black Heels - Kohls

Happy Birthday, J!

Today is J's birthday! To celebrate, we made steak for dinner and watched Jacked.

Bacon-wrapped steak, stuffing, and carrots. Yum!
Jacked is my new favorite tv show. It's even better than Cops. I'm trying to teach myself the phonetic alphabet in hopes of sounding more intelligent. Do you ever find yourself saying "M as in...uh..." when you know full well that Mary starts with M but you forget when put on the spot? Well no more.

30 for 30 - Day 18

It's finally Friday! Sorry for the short, unchatty posts. I'm still not back 100% from being sick. Hopefully getting more sleep this weekend will help.

Black Cardigan - Marshall Fields
Khakis - Target
Black Flats - Payless

30 for 30 - Day 17

Today's high is going to be 54! Heat wave! So I went for bright spring colors. I have never wore this combination before but am happy with how it turned out. I think subconsciously I remembered a similar look on Rose (from Sneakers to Stilettos). Thanks for the inspiration!

Green Shirt - Plato's Closet
Pink Cardigan - Target
Black Pants - Thrift Store
Black Flats - Payless

Grey Pants - New York & Co.
Black Flats - Shopko

30 for 30 - Day 11

I am so glad to be off today! This is my weekend to relax with J. I am excited because we are going to see Gnomeo and Juliet with his grandparents tomorrow :) In case you don't recognize this movie, here is the trailer:

And now on to the outift....

White Button Down - Shopko

30 for 30 - Day 9

Again today is cold. But I treated myself to a car ride instead of waiting for the bus. I also gave M a ride to work because his car is in the shop. Anywho, I was told that I look springy. I wish it was spring!

holy static-y hair

Floral Top - Garage Sale  ($2!)
Pink Cardigan - Target
Black Pants - Thrift Store
Black Boots - JCPenney

Now you may be saying to yourself, black boots? I do not remember these in her 30 for 30 picks. And you would be right. I added these boots because they are a little more snow-friendly than my other shoes.

30 for 30 - Day 8

This is my 50th post! I never thought I would make it this far. And I can't stop now because we still have 22 days left of 30 for 30!

Green Sweater - Kohls
Pin Stripe Pants - Kohls (I think)
Black Heels - Kohls (?)

Sorry, I'm really not remembering.

And this is me bundled up to go outside:

That's what warm looks like at 7°F with -11°F windchill. And notice my Land's End Down Parka :)

30 for 30 - Day 5

Last night, J and I went to Winterfrost. It's a dance put on by my college for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We had a nice time. Here is us all dressed up:

Now it's the weekend and luckily it's quiet. It's been a rough couple days.

Pink Long-Sleeve Top - Aeropostale
Jeans - Hand Me Down
Belt is Vera Bradley

30 for 30 - Day 4

Happy Friday! And it's sunny too!

Grey Cardigan - Old Navy
Black Pants - Thrift Store
Black Flats - Payless

Also, today is Wear Red Day. I didn't have any red in my 30 for 30 picks, not to mention that I don't own very much red at all. And as there is no shopping in 30 for 30, I went the borrowed route. Mom lent me this scarf that I rolled and wore as a headband.

The best I can do with static-y hair in my office.

Thursday, February 03, 2011

30 for 30 - Day 3

Back to work today. I'm not all that enthusiastic about that, but I am about this outfit. Surprisingly, I don't think I have ever worn this combination before.

Purple Top - Maurices
Brown Shrug - Maurices
Brown Pants - Thrift Store
Brown Wedges - Gordmans

One more day until the weekend! Hang in there!

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

30 for 30 - Day 2

Snow Day! Yes, even work was canceled today. I've been cleaning the apartment and going through papers. Thus I went with a very casual outfit today. I'm not wearing any shoes because I like going barefoot in the house. (J's grandpa calls me the Wisconsin Hillbilly.) And I'll be throwing on boots for going outside.

Striped Top - Shopko
Jeans - hand-me-down

30 for 30 - Day 1

Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit! It is tradition between my dad and I to wish each other a Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit on the first of every month. Today, I got Dad :D

And here is my first 30 for 30 outfit....

Green Top - Plato's Closet
White Button Down - Shopko (?)
Grey Pants - New York & Company
Black Flats - Payless Shoes

After the picture, the flats got packed in my bag and on went the boots. We are expected to get up to 15 inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon. Not to mention, wind gusts up to 40 mph. That's winter in the Midwest for you. I'll be watching the weather today. If it gets bad enough that the buses stop running, I don't want to get stranded at work!
